Mairang, Nongstoin students shine as SPARK talent hunt hits rural Khasi Hills
MAIRANG/NONGSTOIN, Aug 19: Moving beyond the constraints of traditional rote learning, rural students from 12 schools in the Khasi Hills took to the stage in Mairang and Nongstoin this week under the SPARK Meghalaya District Talent Events, proving that world-class talent—from beatboxing to theatre—is no longer the exclusive domain of Shillong’s elite private institutions.
The events in Eastern West Khasi Hills and West Khasi Hills featured 39 acts before district-level juries, with six students or teams selected as District SPARK Stars to represent the two districts at the upcoming SPARK State Summit.
